- Serves: about 4-6 servings
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Cook Time: 1-1.5 hours
Ingredients
- 1 lb. Rosie Organic Chicken Party Wings
- 2 tsp. Kosher Salt
- 2 tsp. Black Pepper
- 2 tbsp. Chinese Five Spice Blend
- 1 tsp. Baking Powder
- Sesame Seeds (for serving)
- 1/4 c. Hoisin Sauce
- 1/2 tsp. Fresh Ginger, grated
- 1 Garlic Clove, grated
- 1/4 c. Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
- 2 tbsp. Rice Wine Vinegar
- 1 tbsp. Sherry
- 2 tbsp. Brown Sugar
- 2 tbsp. Unsalted Butter
- 1/2 tsp. Sesame Oil
Instructions
Preheat oven to 275 degrees, and arrange a large baking tray with a fitted rack. Pat wings completely dry with paper towels, then add to a resealable plastic bag. Combine Chinese 5-Spice mix, salt, pepper, and baking powder in a small bowl, then add to bag with chicken wings; seal bag tightly, then shake vigorously until wings are evenly coated in seasoning blend. Remove wings from bag, shaking off any excess seasoning, and transfer to prepared rack.
Bake wings for 30 minutes, then remove tray from oven. Raise oven temperature to 425 degrees, then return wings to oven for further 30 to 45 minutes or until wings are golden and crisp, rotating tray halfway through cooking. While wings bake, combine hoisin, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, sherry, sugar, and sesame oil in a small saucepan on medium-low heat, and slowly bring to a simmer. When sauce reaches simmer, stir in butter until melted and immediately remove from heat. Cover and keep warm until needed.
When wings are finished, pour sauce into a large mixing bowl, then transfer hot wings into sauce. Toss until wings are evenly coated, then sprinkle with sesame seeds to finish. Serve immediately.
