Oliver’s Rings In the Holidays with Bell Campaign to Benefit Redwood Empire Food Bank

Press Release:

Oliver’s Market Launches Annual Holiday Bell Campaign
in Support of the Redwood Empire Food Bank

SANTA ROSA, CA (December 5, 2024) – Oliver’s Market, Sonoma County’s premier independent grocer, is proud to announce the launch of its annual Holiday Bell Campaign in support of the Redwood Empire Food Bank. The campaign kicked off on November 25, 2024, coinciding with Thanksgiving, and will run through Christmas Eve.

Building on last year’s record-breaking success, which saw $64,010 raised for the Redwood Empire Food Bank, Oliver’s Market is aiming to surpass this impressive total in 2024. The Holiday Bell Campaign has become a cherished tradition in Sonoma County, exemplifying the community’s commitment to ending hunger and supporting those in need.

“We value the huge role that Redwood Empire Food Bank plays in supporting our community, and our customers do, too,” said Scott Gross, Oliver’s Market General Manager. “We are very proud of the growth in our campaign in recent years, and are pleased to be offering a company match on the first 10,000 bells sold. It’s a wonderful way to ring in some much needed support for Redwood Empire Food Bank and our neighbors in need during the holiday season.”

Key points of the 2024 Holiday Bell Campaign:

  • Campaign runs from November 25 through December 24, 2024
  • Bells are available for purchase at all four Oliver’s Market locations for $1 each
  • All proceeds from bell sales go directly to the Redwood Empire Food Bank
  • Oliver’s Market will match the first $10,000 raised

Customers can participate in this meaningful initiative by purchasing a bell for just $1 at any Oliver’s Market location. Every dollar raised through bell sales will be donated to the Redwood Empire Food Bank, amplifying the impact of each contribution. Thanks to the food bank’s substantial buying power, for every $1 donated, they can provide $3 worth of food to those in need, tripling the impact of each customer’s generosity. This remarkable leverage underscores the significance of every bell purchased during the campaign.

“Our partnership with Oliver’s Market through the Holiday Bell Campaign continues to grow stronger each year,” said Rachelle Mesheau, the Redwood Empire Food Bank’s Director of Marketing & Communications. “This initiative is crucial for our organization, providing significant resources that enable us to serve over 140,000 individuals across five counties. The generosity of Oliver’s and their customers during this campaign directly translates into groceries for families, children, and seniors in need. It’s a powerful example of how community collaboration can make a real difference in addressing food insecurity in our region.”

The Holiday Bell Campaign has shown remarkable growth since its inception in 2016, with donations increasing significantly year over year. This upward trend reflects the deepening partnership between Oliver’s Market and the Redwood Empire Food Bank, as well as the growing community engagement in supporting local hunger relief efforts.
