Homemade Cold Brew Coffee
Sonoma County has an abundance of coffee producers, and Oliver’s Market is proud to feature them this week. In this recipe, the slow infusion pulls all the great coffee flavor from the beans and leaves behind most of the compounds that can make coffee taste bitter taste. Cold brewed coffee is incredibly smooth and almost sweet-tasting, perfect for iced coffee.
- Serves: 8 servings
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 cups Bella Rosa Roaster’s Reserve Coffee Beans
- 8 cups filtered water
Instructions
Grind coffee beans in batches until ground resemble raw sugar; the grind should be very coarse. Combine water and coffee grounds in a large jar, stirring to incorporate, then cover tightly with a lid.
Allow coffee to steep in the fridge for 18 to 24 hours. To strain, line a fine mesh strainer with cheesecloth and slowly pour the cold brew through the strainer into a separate jar. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Serve over ice; for a less concentrated coffee, add 1/2 of water.
